Before and after photos of Amber: Left side shows her sitting in a car. Right side shows a woman, a man, and a toddler posing outdoors, all smiling.

I arrived at The Harbor Home a deeply broken woman. My life had been tangled in addiction and alcoholism for 15 years and I had grown to believe that I was destined for sadness. I’d been in and out of rehabs and psychiatric facilities, lost jobs, and caused real pain to those I loved. I had nothing to offer society and I was not someone that could be counted on for much.

When I walked through the blue door in June 2018, the Lord began to set me free. During Phase One and Phase Two I was completely immersed in God’s Word, and He began to renew my mind. Holy Scripture and the wise counsel of the staff instilled in me a biblical worldview that has become the foundation of my life.

Today I am a grateful wife to a wonderful man who loves the Lord and disciples other men to pursue Christ and righteousness. I am also a devoted full-time mother to two precious boys, called to raise them to love the Lord with all their heart, mind, and strength. I will forever be thankful to my dear friends at The Harbor Home — they loved me with a genuine, Christ-like love and pointed me to the God of all creation who sustains me in every circumstance.
