Heather B’s Story

Before and after photos of Heather: one of a woman with short hair and a neutral expression, the other of a woman and two children smiling in a car.

I entered the Harbor Home lost in addiction, hearing voices and seeing faces coming out of walls. My life of addiction had caused great devastation and destruction, and I lost custody of my two precious children. During my time at the Harbor Home, I found hope, healing and a relationship with Christ. I found a feeling of self-worth, learned good work ethics and values that will sustain me well into the future. My life was completely transformed. I now have a home, custody of my children and I work at the very ministry that helped save and change my life as Case Manager, where I oversee and support residents throughout their recovery journey. My role includes preparing monthly progress reports, coordinating and scheduling a wide range of appointments, and accompanying residents to court to provide advocacy and support.

Today, I stand as living proof before the women I serve that change is possible, recovery is real, and a new life can be built. It’s all about the transforming power of God’s love and His redemption in my life. I am forever grateful!
