Heather G’s Story

Before and after photos of Heather

For a decade, I was imprisoned by addiction, self-hatred and despair. My children were forced to live with my parents, and my oldest daughter turned away from me. I was a shattered soul, a mere shadow of who I once was. But in 2020, I discovered The Harbor Home. Entering The Harbor during the midst of Covid-19 was difficult at best, but I was determined to reclaim my life and mend the fractured relationship with my children. Through perseverance and faith, I witnessed those very miracles unfold. My children, especially my oldest, began to trust me again, and I witnessed Jesus heal the deep wounds within me.

The Harbor Home became my sanctuary, where I found my Savior and embarked on a journey of transformation. Graduating from The Harbor, I was afforded the opportunity to give back as the catering manager, while pursuing my education at CBC through the PACE program. Today, I proudly serve as the Business Administrator. On March 1st, I will celebrate 5 years of sobriety and devotion to the Lord. On May 6, 2023, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from CBC. Now I supporting my oldest daughter, Abby, and helping put her through college.

As a single mother to my three daughters, I cherish the chance to guide them in walking hand in hand with Jesus. The Harbor Home not only saved me but transformed me into a beacon of hope for my family. Through their support and the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus, I have emerged as a new creation, empowered and determined. Your support can change lives, just as it changed mine. Join me in being a part of transforming broken souls into beacons of light. My story is a testament to the incredible impact of this organization – it saved me, and it can save others.
