Mission Statement:
Helping Women and children whose lives have been devastated by addiction and destructive lifestyles; facilitating healing from trauma and abused while leading women to discover the powerful truth found in God's word. Ultimately, brining them into right relationship with God and others as they launch new lives of freedom.
The Harbor Home program is a faith-based home for women coming out of the darkness of addiction. We do not discriminate based on race, religion or sexual orientation. We do not charge our residents but, if family is able to help, we do ask for that help. All financial gifts are tax-deductible as we are a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. We have been able to help women from all across the United States and have had women come from 7 different states to date. Our residents have been ages 18-72 years of age and have struggled with addictions to pills, meth, heroin and alcohol. We have seen incredible results with amazing transformation in the lives of the residents who stay the full year and complete both Phase 1 and 2 of our Harbor Home Program.

Our Phase 1 Program lasts 6-7 months and consists of various classes and workshops that help teach and equip the women as they learn about the root causes of addiction and how to learn to cope and heal from trauma experienced. We also teach classes based on Biblical principles for success such as “Change Your Mind…Change Your Life”, “Who Do You Think You Are” and “Overcoming Guilt and Shame”. The book study, “Heart of Addiction” is another powerful tool we use in helping our residents learn and grow and become educated about and heal from addictive behaviors and habits. At the same time studies such as Beth Moore’s “Breaking Free” and Jennifer Rothschild’s, “Me, Myself & Lies” along with Joyce Meyer’s “Battlefield of the Mind” help our residents learn to restructure the way they see themselves and the world around them, all the time seeking to empower them to find freedom from the hurts, hangups and habits that have brought them to the place they found themselves in when they came to our Harbor Home.
We provide counseling through a licensed psychologist/therapist weekly and also provide group counseling. The residents have access to staff members who truly care about them and their well-being. We address the various medical issues that the women enter with and help them get the necessary check ups and medications needed to bring wellness into their lives.
We do, however, allow very limited use of any type of drugs that would cause an altered mental state. We work closely with doctors and medical professionals to help them get the best and most appropriate help needed.
While the residents live in Phase 1, they engage in many work and community projects. We volunteer for local non-profits, churches and private individuals who need assistance. We also have a Detailing, House Cleaning and Catering/Food Trailer business called The Harbor Home Handy Helpers (learn more on the page dedicated to this). Through their time working on these projects the Harbor Girls learn team building, good work ethics and habits and can enjoy feeling a sense of camaraderie working with their peers.
We take our Harbor Girls to various events, conferences and outings that we believe will enrich their lives, allowing them to enjoy a variety of experiences.
Family visitation is available after 30 days when deemed appropriate and safe. We also encourage contact with their children and partner with Soaring Wings Children’s Ranch if a resident doesn’t have a safe place for her children to stay while she is in our program.
Phase 2 Residents attend classes all day on Monday’s and then are able to work off property Tuesday-Saturday. Classes consist of parenting, finance & budgeting, safe people and relationships and creating healthy habits. Our Phase 2 Director assists the residents in creating a plan to pay fines & restitution, creating savings accounts and many enroll in the PACE Program at Central Baptist College on Tuesday nights. Phase 2 lasts approximately 6 months. Upon completion of Phase 2, The Harbor Home partners with St. Joe’s Catholic Church who helps furnish our residents in their new apartments or housing.

After they leave our property, the staff of The Harbor Home for Women, continues to be a source of help and encouragement to those Harbor Graduates who need or desire it. Our goal is to build a community of continued support where the girls have a 2nd family to come back to from time to time.
