Hear Our Story
Your Safe Refuge From the Storms of LifeThe Harbor Home for Women is a faith-based restoration home for women coming out of the darkness of addiction. We believe that addiction is a symptom of a deeper issue and our residents’ time spent in our home is filled with opportunities to discover the root cause of the addiction, deal with the issues that have been buried and heal from those issues. We are excited about the transformation we witness in the lives of our “Harbor Girls”, as our residents are called.
We have been housing and helping women launch an exciting new life of power, passion and purpose for 6 years and, to date, 85% of our graduates are living full lives, clean and sober, raising their children, many attending college, starting their own businesses and becoming great employees for local companies. Some go back to their original professions and we are excited to be the employer of many of our former residents who have chosen to stay at The Harbor Home and work on staff, now helping other women find their freedom and transformation through their time at The Harbor Home. |
Empowering WomenThrough the curriculum taught and the experiences we provide, our residents are shown that there is an exciting way to live, free of addiction and destructive life choices. By exposing them to men and women who have found freedom and have gone on to do great things with their lives and by allowing the Harbor Girls to explore exciting opportunities, we help empower them to move into the future, not to just survive but to thrive.
“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun” - 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Restoring FamiliesThe love of family is so important in the lives of our Harbor Girls and, when there is a healthy family unit to bring support to our residents, we want to see those relationships nurtured. We provide counseling for our residents to help give them tools for healthy relationships but also offer counseling opportunities to families as well, providing a well-rounded approach for the entire family. Love is they key, but sometimes love isn’t enough. Learning the boundaries of a healthy and whole family relationship makes love so much more enriching for our residents and their loved ones.
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love”
– 1 Corinthians 13:13. |
Building FuturesThrough a Three Phase process, The Harbor Home offers on the job training, mentoring and career counseling, helping the residents discover their gifts, talents and passions for what they will do in the future, upon graduation. By engaging the Harbor Girls in different work and educational opportunities, our goal is to help them launch a new life with a clear direction and path. Our program is supported by volunteers from the business and church community who offer their assistance in preparing the residents for freedom in the “real” world.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” – Philippians 4:13.

The Harbor Home Empowerment Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that is dedicated to helping women in crisis find new hope and a fresh start in life. We believe that God has a great plan for every woman who enters the blue doors of our cozy home. The Harbor Girls are housed inside of a small church building where the sanctuary, Sunday school rooms and fellowship hall have been turned into a beautiful home full of love and laughter! We do not consider ourselves to be a rehab but a restoration home where the love of Christ is exemplified!
